Qatar Trademarks office is administered by Ministry of Business and Trade, Department of Commercial Registration and Licensing.
It is highly advisable to conduct a search of the proposed mark to ensure that a similar mark has not been applied for by other contenders and is not pending registration or is already registered.
Filing is done with the Trademark office of Qatar.

Once the application is filed, a Preliminary (formality) examination regarding compliance of all the requisites is carried out along with a search for prior existing trademarks and then Substantive examination is carried out.
Post examination, Registrar will inform the applicant regarding changes to be carried out if any. If no changes carried out as per directions, the mark is considered to be abandoned.
If the applicant complies with the directions of the Registrar regarding requirements, The application proceeds for registration.
Once accepted, the mark is published in the Trademark Gazette.
Once the trademark is accepted for registration, the Registrar of trademarks will enter the details of the trademark onto the trademark register and the applicant will be issued with a certificate of registration.
Continuous usage of the mark for 5 years post registration is necessary to avoid 3rd party claims on the mark.
